I'm abandoning the use of CDs

*sigh*  Last night I tried to install the latest Ubuntu from CD.  For some reason the installer didn't get further than loading the kernel fase.  I tried giving the installer several options but all failed.

This morning I burned the alternate cd image, and I got through to the phase were packages installed, but a lot of them where corrupted.

Maybe a faulty DVD reader/writer?

I then set up a network install and now I'm installing without any troubles.

Did you check the md5sums of the downloaded files?
Did you check the option to verify files after burning them to cd?

Yep, all where ok. I also tried to burn the alternet cd image on the same cd, but I couldn't blank it, i/o error

This site was... how do you say it? Relevant!! Finally I have found something that helped me.
Thank you!

Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my iPad and tested to see
if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.
I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

Hm strange indeed!
